THE PEOPLE’S INITIATIVE TO CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA IN THE CONSTITUTION OF THE KINGDOM OF SERBIA, in accordance with the law, made the decision to start the public gathering of the citizens’ signatures of support.
The signing of the support will be organized on the territory of Serbia in the period from 21st to 27th November 2016.
We recall that exactly ten years ago, on November 8th 2006, the National Assembly declared the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, which was previously approved by the public referendum.
In accordance with the law, the People’s Initiative first informed the National Assembly by its proposal to change the Constitution in the Constitution of the Kingdom on 9 September this year.
Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the People’s Initiative, Mr. Predrag Markovic, in accordance with the law, in the decision on the commencement of the public collecting of the signatures of support for the Constitutional changes states that the signatures will be collected “over a period not exceeding seven days, as follows: 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 November 2016 on the territory of Serbia ” and that ” signatures will be collected on forms that contain the name of the People’s Initiative proposal, the number and the date when the proposal was given to the National Assembly, as well as the place and date of collecting signatures and signature of authorized person”.
“The signatures will be collected in public places, at the premises of the Kingdom of Serbia Association and at the premises that the authorized person shall order,” is stated in the Decision.
We remind you that the Kingdom of Serbia Association at its first congress, held on 27 March 2016 in Vrnjacka Banja, unanimously adopted a Declaration which committed to start the initiative for the constitutional change in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Serbia.
