Kingdom of Serbia Association celebrated its Patron Saint Day with a reception that took place in the White Palace in Belgrade on March 4th, 2016, and which was attended by our patrons, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine.
A special honor was the presence of the advisory bodies of the Crown, Messrs. Dragomir Acovic, Predrag Markovic, Kosta Cavoski, Dragoljub Kavran, Vladan Zivulovic, Djurdje Ninkovic, Miroslav Gasic and Darko Spasic.
Representatives of the Serbian orthodox church were envoy and Vicar Bishop of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Mr. Irinej, His Grace Bishop of Toplica Mr. Arsenije and His Grace Bishop of Scandinavia Mr. Dositej (Bishop Dositej is also a member of Kingdom of Serbia Association).
The reception was attended by numerous representatives of the diplomatic corps: H.E. Ambassador of the United Kingdom Mr. Denis Edward Peter Paul Keefe; H.E. A special honor was made to us by the presence of the representative of the Serbian Army, Colonel Milutinovic, who was the envoy of General Dikovic, the Chief of the General Staff of Serbian Army, as well as Mr. Vladimir Bozovic, advisor to the Prime Minister of Serbia.
The reception was attended by a large number of mayors and Municipality presidents, businessmen, media representatives, members of cultural and public life of Serbia and many other distinguished guests.
The program started with the original version of the Serbian national anthem “God of justice”, performed by Art Ensemble “King Peter I”, followed by the speech of our patron HRH Crown Prince Alexander. Once again, he emphasized his support to the activities of the members of the Association and he called upon all the people interested in the restoration of the constitutional parliamentary monarchy to join the Kingdom of Serbia Association and to support our work.
Mr. Dragomir Acovic, member of the Privy Council, addressed the guests on behalf of the advisory bodies of the Crown, followed with the speech by Mr. Mario Majstorovic, President of the KS Association.
After that, our guests had the opportunity to see the annual film of the Association, which was created by Mr. Uros Parezanovic, General Secretary of the Executive Board. You can watch the film on our You tube channel HERE
Letters of thanks were given to our friends from the “Toplicki vinogradi” winery as well as to the deserving members of the Association – Mrs. Mila Stefanovic and Mr. Zivorad Bozinovic.
Mr. Andrija Sosic, member of the Managing Board of the Association, presented his book “Serbia in WW1 – chronology of events” and gave the first copy of the book to our patron.
The ceremonial part ended with the performance of song “Vostani Serbie”, which was followed by a cocktail.
Guest had the chance to see the exhibition of the selected quotes about monarchy that were presented in the salon of the White Palace.
Once again, we send our gratitude to all who have helped us in the organization of this magnificent reception, as well as to all the guests who attended the celebration of our Patron Saint Day.
