HRH Crown Prince Alexander visited Kragujevac on April 2nd 2016, and he was welcomed and accompanied by members of the Kingdom of Serbia Association as well as our friends from the Ravna gora movement.

The Crown Prince first officially opened the second Wine Salon organized by the Wine Knights of Sumadija at the Hotel “Kragujevac” Congress Centre. Around fifty wineries took part at the Wine Salon mainly wine makers from Serbia and winemakers from the region of Southeast Europe. At the opening, Crown Prince met with Mr Radomir Nikolic, Mayor of Kragujevac. Mr Dragan Reljic, director of King Peter I Foundation in Oplenac accompanied Crown Prince.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander addressed the participants: “My great-grandfather King Peter I, and my grandfather King Alexander I, by establishing and modernizing the Royal winery in Topola, wanted to encourage efforts that Sumadija become a world recognized wine region. This tradition continues and I’m glad it’s here today over forty wineries exhibitors from Sumadija, Serbia and the wider region “- emphasized the Crown Prince.

Crown Prince spoke with exhibitors after the official opening and enjoyed the wine tasting. Then he went to the monument of his grandfather, His Majesty King Alexander I, where he was welcomed by members of the Association of the Kingdom of Serbia, Ravna Gora movement and many citizens of Kragujevac.
