His Eminence Bishop of Sabac Lavrentije

His Eminence Bishop of Sabac Lavrentije (Trifunovic), was born in a village Bogostica, near Krupanj on Saint Sava’s day, 27th January 1935. Zivko was his given name.

He attended elementary school in Krupanj, two grades of high school in Loznica, Theology and the Theological Faculty in Belgrade. Two years he was the priest of the church Ruzica in Belgrade, then parish priest in Kupres, two and a half years professor of Theology in Krka monastery and also parish priest in Ivosevci, and from 1967 to 1969, Vicar Bishop of Belgrade.

For the Bishop of Western European and Australia and New Zealand was set in 1969. Having created the conditions for the formation of the new Eparchy of Australia, he moved to Western Europe. In Himelstir in Germany, he has founded the Diocesan Center, bought for the Serbian church, one that it was already built. There he founded a printing office and published works of Bishop Nikolaj Velimirovic and many other books of religious content.

The Holy Assembly of Bishops elected him in 1989 for Bishop of Sabac and Valjevo and Sabac was enthroned on 23 July 1989. Began to build a new Diocesan Center and monastery in Soko-Grad.

Bishop Lavrentije speaks English, German and Russian. As a representative and deputy of the Serbian Orthodox Church has participated in many meetings between the church and held lectures and papers.
