July 24, 2017 – At the invitation of the host, His Grace Bishop of Sabac Mr. Lavrentije, a delegation of the Kingdom of Serbia Association attended the opening of “Moba 2017” in the monastery of St. Nicholas, Soko-city near Ljubovija, gathering of the youth from the country and Diaspora, whose goal is to learn about the tradition, culture, customs and faith of our people.
The program of the opening ceremony, besides the President of the Association, Mr. Mario Majstorović, attended the Minister of Education in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Mladen Šarčević, Dr. Marko Nikolić, Assistant Director of the Administration for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities of the Government, Presidents of the Municipalities of Ljubovija, Vladimirci and Mali Zvornik, as well as the large number of businessmen and people from this region.
On that occasion, in the central part of the ceremony, the President of the Kingdom of Serbia Association presented the gift of the association, the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Serbia, to His Grace in honor of the 50th anniversary of the bishop’s service, and announced the decision on granting the status of Honorary member of the Association with the words “Your Grace, God blessed us with the 50th year of your pastoral service on earth, whose blessing is not only a witness to the faithful people of your dioceses, but additionally, what serves you with honor and makes us even more proud of you is great love and commitment to the Royal House of Karađorđe! It is only natural to say, here in your home, with the faith in God, Long live the King! “
Delegation of the Kingdom of Serbia Association besides President, Mr. Majstorović, was also made by Mr. Uroš Parezanović, President of the Executive Board, Srdjan Cosic, member of the Council of the Association and Mr. Darko Mitrovic, member of Committee Kraljevo. Vice President of the Executive Board for Western Serbia, deacon Savo Ždero, was a member of the organizing committee of the ceremony.
Let’s remind, in addition to His Grace Lavrentija, the status of Honorary member of the Kingdom of Serbia Association was awarded to Arch. Dragomir Acović, Chairman of the advisory bodies of the Crown, Mr. Matija Bećković, poet and writer and Mr. Radoš Bajić, actor, director and screenwriter.
