Kingdom of Serbia Association celebrated its Patron Saint Day – St. Simeon the Myrrh-streaming, and started marking the 10th year anniversary of our work with a reception that took place in the White Palace in Belgrade on February 29th, 2020.
Earlier this week, Kingdom of Serbia Association had the honor that His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Mr. Irinej once again gave his blessing that we cut our “slava” bread on the Holy Liturgy in the Chapel of the Patriarchate of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Belgrade.
A special honor was the presence on the reception of the emissary of His Holiness, His Grace Bishop Stefan, as well as His Grace Bishop Isahije, envoy of Reis il Ulema, effendi Muhammad Alija, members of the advisory bodies of the Crown, Mr. Zoran Zivanovic and Mr. Predrag Markovic, representatives of the diplomatic corps, ambassadors and deputies of various embassies, His Excellency the Ambassador of Serbia in Montenegro, Mr. Vladimir Bozovic, large number of mayors and Municipality presidents, businessmen, media representatives, members of cultural, sport and public life of Serbia and many other distinguished guests.
The program started with the original version of the Serbian national anthem “God of justice”, performed by sisters Katarina and Hristina Trifunovic.
Since Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine are abroad due to their humanitarian activities, our Patron, HRH Crown Prince Alexander addressed the members of Association and guests over video link. In his speech, HRH Crown Prince Alexander emphasized his support to the activities of the members of the Association and the importance of our work on the promotion of the constitutional parliamentary monarchy.
After the addressing of HRH Crown Prince Alexander, Bishop Isahije held a speech and the greeting letter from the Highly Reverend Abbot of Hilandar Monastery, Mr. Metodije, and guests were greeted by the President of the Association, Mr. Saša Šušić.
Once again, we send our gratitude to all who have helped us in the organization of this magnificent reception, as well as to all the guests who attended the celebration of our Patron Saint Day.
